Howdy from Texas!
It is raining! I has been gloomy most of the day and the rain is cold with a steady drizzle. In spite of the weather, I accomplished a lot today. I kept the washing machine humming most of the afternoon. In between loads of wash, I went into my craft zone and accomplished lots of gluing and cutting. At 5, I gave John a hair cut.
This has been a great study on prayer today. I was fired up when I read it early this morning. I am so honored to know this author walks around Pennsylvania Ave. praying for our country. He shares some powerful things God has done for him, because of prayer. I am eager to get to his level of prayer. God is doing powerful things with him. The title of day 16 is Lord, Surprise Me. What a title. I prayed that today over myself. I desire a surprise in my prayer life. How blessed, I would be to have my granddaughter come to the door for a visit. He is a big God and nothing is impossible with Him. This morning, I had a great visit with my son. I was bold in my words for the first time in a long time. I wasn't angry or harsh, just spoke what God had put on my heart and lips. I shared some things with him that I have kept in a deep part of my heart. It felt good to be honest. I waited all day for a surprise, but it never came; maybe it will be tomorrow or some day soon.
My mother and I shared birthdays so, we were careful that it didn't look like we were really doing something to honor ourselves. In the lesson today, the author talked about how God loves parties and especially surprise parties. I am ready for a surprise. I don't remember anyone in my family having a birthday party for me. A few years ago, some of the girls from a Bible Study, I taught, surprised me with a lunch. I had no clue and I was surprised. I only give you a small taste of what this challenge is all about. It has been amazing. It will have a huge impact on me forever. Another, statement he made that made me smile was "God knows every Tom, Dick and Harry." The more one prays the more you experience holy surprises. I am so ready for the next step up in my prayer life. I will look for opportunities to help surprise other people with blessings.
The verse for this study was "The wind blows wherever it pleases." John 3:8
John has had a tough day with his arm. Praying for him to have a complete healing with his skin condition of itching. He just asked me, "...if I had anything sweet for him to eat?" He has been eating everything in sight and he wanted some of my sugar filled hot chocolate. Being the sweet wife, I am, I fixed him some. I buy him sugar free and he has depleted his supply. Pray for his arm, please. It looks like it is burned.
The promise for today is: The grass will dry up and flowers will fall, but My Word will endure forever. 1 Peter 1: 24, 25
I am not sure, I will post anything tomorrow. The challenge skips Sundays. If, I am not here, look for me on Monday. I appreciate you stopping in and wanting to hear about my day.
God loves you! I asked Him to send you some amazing surprises.
Love is in my ink!
Love is in my heart!
Love, Mary Kay
