September 23, 2017

Shalom, My Dear Readers,

Morning has broken!  Cat Stevens is singing in my ear.  I think that is a sign for me to pray for him.  He has taken a sharp turn away from Christianity.

It is 5:28 AM and I am dressed and ready to take Joey to work.  He is working in Wimberley today. He has some vehicle issues.   I will pick up a few things, (ingredients)  I need to finish up my Southwest Salad,  I am making for tomorrow.  Then I need to come home and get ready to go to a Bible study at church.  This will be a busy day.  I am already thinking about  a nap for this afternoon.

Back to the pasture and the sheep that graze in it.  Ezekiel is one of my favorite books so I will camp out in chapter 34 for a little bit.  I do have a righteous spirit.  Remember the word from a couple of days ago?  I have been striving to be more of listener, but I also know I am a fighter for justice and high morals. In the very beginning of this chapter Ezekiel prophesies with a loud scoldings for  the shepherds that are not doing their job. The job description is clear but they continue to do what pleases them. They are selfish and stubborn.  As the chapter continues he, warns the sheep.  That is us, folks.  The sheep continue to walk in mud or sin.  He warns them that Christ will judge them.  It may not be pretty.  We live in a time of a much needed scolding.  So much hate and selfishness has been brought into our beautiful country.  I walk away most of the time, but then I think about my role in righteousness.  I long to be feeding in the pasture with the righteous.  Read Ezekiel.  You will be blessed.  It is chapter 36,  where I found my new heart.  I pray today, you will graze in the pasture of peace and contentment.

The word for today is:  Submit

Submit according  to the Merriam-Webster dictionary online is to yield to governance or authority.  Surrender, defer or consent to  authority of another are examples.
The verse connect to this word study is Job 22:21.  Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.   Amazing how that fits together so nicely.  God is our authority and we need to surrender all to Him.
The sheep submit to the shepherd and we as sheep need to be reminded we are to surrender to God.  I love the way this all fits together.  A beautiful picture of life in the pasture.  Today is the day to submit your life to Christ.  All of it.

The promise for today is:  I will enrich your life and renew your youth like the eagle's.
                                                                                   Psalm 103:5

John is having a bad day.  Please pray for him.  He gets very frustrated when he doesn't feel good. Sometimes it is a sign his blood sugar is out of line. He is a type 2 diabetic.   Grumpy! and irradiated at everything.  When he gets upset his blood pressure spikes too.  I wonder at times, if he should have went to a rehab after the last surgery.  I do many things for him, but some days it is not enough.  I have to have activities outside of the house for my own sanity. I love John and will hang on and take care of him as long as possible.  I seek Jesus for strength and help and He always comes along with a word of encouragement.

I need to go and put my Bible study face on.  Submit your life to the Shepherd and soar like an eagle.

Love is in the ink!
Love, Mary Kay
