The red roof is my church. The Church in the Valley/Genesis Ministries. Taken from the Dam at Canyon Lake Two churches became one! |
The days and weeks fly by. Yesterday is gone and today has arrived. I have nothing planned for today and that is a blessing. I have some cleaning and picking up do and that should take care of the morning hours. I am always grateful to have some craft time or serious writing time. I went to church last night. I don't think I can do that again. Since all my eye surgeries, I don't trust my night driving. My church is a praying and Bible reading church and I will start having my own Wednesday night time at home. I will miss God's people.
The word for today is: Righteousness. I need to wrap my thinking around this word. I have been taught that everyone was better than I was and that is so far from the truth. It has caused a lot of lost years and now I work on some self worth issues. God's grace and mercy arrived and I have been reborn. Just sharing that makes me want to dance.
Righteousness
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary "righteousness" means to adhere to being morally right or justifiable. Free from guilt and sin. It is that free from guilt and sin, I need to work on. I punish myself often with that piece of bondage. I think I have the morally right down. The verse reference is: Proverbs 21:21
He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:21
Now who would not want to pursue righteousness? I am always so delighted to do a word study for a clear understanding of what God has for me. I am thrilled to be the righteousness of God. Freedom! Thank you, Jesus for all you do for me.
I continue to think about shepherds and sheep. On the news someone or group is now protesting cotton sales from Hobby Lobby. So many great issues to address, why cotton? Here in Texas we have cotton fields. Not in my area but not far from here. I have read stories about picking cotton and that was the work of determination and strength. Many people my age have picked cotton. Their fingers bleed. The heart of God must hurt over this attack on cotton. Forgive the protesters, Father. Love and protect our country from such foolishness.
The promise for today is:
If you wait for me, I will renew your strength. Isaiah 40: 31
This is going to be a great day. Thank you for stopping in. Be blessed as your pursue God.
Love is in the ink.
Mary Kay
