A shower came out of no where and was followed by a beautiful rainbow. It has been a wonderful sunny day. Not to hot just right.
I spent most of the day washing clothes and working with my junk journal projects. It was a perfect day. I slept in until 9:30 a.m. and that was refreshing also. Of course, I got up to make coffee and greet Joey this morning. That was about 5:30 and after he went to work, I covered up in bed. Joey comes here every morning because I wash his clothes. He takes a shower here and gets ready for work. We usually have a little chat on the back porch if it's not to cold. He is doing well and I can tell my prayers have anointed him with the love, grace and mercy he needed. He is getting his peace back in the right direction again. I am very thankful when, I see him in the morning. We haven't always been close and now we have a bond that is so loving and strong. I am thankful. Some of things I learned in workshops about behavior, working with high risk children often went unnoticed by my own family. I owe much of my knowledge to working at the Children's Home. I learned to stop sharing with family. They didn't want to hear it.
Most of the day was spent cutting, pasting and creating. I have three journals, I plan to write in. It puts a little extra surprise to my writing and creative side of life. When I retired, I thought I would paint and draw and I feel that strong urge to do it now. The bluebonnets help me think that way. I have been doing several paintings in my head with the new ideas. The bluebonnets tell a wonderful story of the birth and death of Christ. I can't promise to get a painting done, but when I do, I will share with you. I love the wildflowers of Texas.
Today the title was Quit Praying
The key takeaway was: Don't just pray about it; do something about it.
The Bible reference was James 2: 14-17.
14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
The object of the title was about not praying for something you can do or already have. A great example would be why pray for someone to have clothes when you have a whole closet full or the finances to help purchase some.
The fast is going well. No tv today. I didn't even take a nap or put the recliner back. I was never tempted to check Facebook either. I am praying my fast will bring a breakthrough. I am praying for a church building for my church family. I have one in mind and I believe it could be the answer. Waiting on God to show up with a miracle. He can do that! He is in the miracle business. Nothing is to big for HIM.
Reminder: No lesson tomorrow. I will take the day off.
The promise for today is: My anointing will teach you all you need to know. 1 John 2:27
If I get going early enough, I will stop at the donut shop to buy donuts. If you cut one in half and have two donut holes, it represents the tomb and the stone rolled away. It would be a nice story and treat to share. I would have to go early to set it up. I also have the jelly bean prayer for next week. Something sweet for the little ones. I might even make some bunny bait.
I am blessed and I pray you are experiencing that same. A new day is coming. I love Easter and all the trimmings. It is a time of new birth and new beginnings.
Be kind to one another and love like Jesus loves.
Love is in the ink.
Love is in my heart.
Love, Mary Kay
