Hinged

Good Morning,

It is 3 am.  That is morning!  A few years ago, I worked nights and my sleeping patterns have never been the same.  I was up filling the vaporizer for John and than I couldn't get back to sleep.  I never fight sleep, but usually journal or read my Bible.

John's coughing has slowed down and actually stopped for now.  He has had plenty of rest and liquids.  He is not the best patient.  He is hard of hearing and does everything twice as loud as needed.  His appetite is good.  I believe standing in the gap with prayer has this under control.  Jesus is always the best medicine.   Why do I always try my way first and than go to God?  Especially when I love the Lord and think I trust him?

I titled this post "Hinged" because when I was so sick and laying on the bathroom floor one night, God and I had the best conversation.  I asked him why some of my prayers never get answered and he said, "Your prayers are HINGED on your obedience to me."  I was blown away and continue to re-play that in my head.  The word HINGED takes on many different purposes and pictures  in my thinking.  I thought about how a door is HINGED and opens and closes and a beautiful old trunk I have that has huge big gold HINGES.  When I am weak, He is strong.   Each day, I learn to trust Him more.  Each day, He loves me more.

Today, I hope to set up my paper journal with some bullets.  I would like to keep better track of my water intake, bills, and Bible reading.  I will start a new Bible study on Prayer on the 14th of February.  I am excited about it.  It will be presented by Mark Batterson the author of Circle Maker.  I love his style of writing.  I can hardly wait to step into a higher place of prayer.  It will be just in time for the Spring Sunshine and the front porch.  I will be sharing it with you.  I will send for the workbooks today.  I love a good study and I believe this will be a great one.

Today's promise is:  You are more than a conqueror through My love in Jesus Christ.  Romans 8:37.

May your day be blessed and full of God surprises.  He gives,  you the tools to conqueror everything.  Prayer and love are great tools.  May we all learn to love like Jesus loves.

I love you.  Thank you for being part of my joy.
Love is in my ink!

Love, Mary Kay
