Birthing Pains

Shalom!

Perfect peace!

This little Jesus ornament has been part of my Christmas for years.  This year I put it on the  applique that was given to me as a gift from a cousin in Germany and set it in a Christmas dish.  I have enjoyed looking at that little reminder of the birth of Christ this year.  Because today, is the day before His birth celebration, I traveled back in my mind at what it might have been like that night.  We know it was night because of the star. The pain of birth is like no other pain and is rewarded with great joy. The star shined bright to lead the way!  It called out! " Come see the Prince of Peace and King of All."  It still calls out today. This little ornament shows Jesus with Wings.  Born an Angel in a dark stable.  His birth continues today. The pain is still here in a very dark world.  He waits for you and me.   Born in a manager, surrounded with animals, wrapped in dirty milk rags, to grow into a man that walked the paths of life.  He died on a cross and rose to live forever.   He wants to live in your heart.  If are looking for that special gift, invite Him into your heart and enjoy the real meaning of Christmas.  This is the best time of the year.  My joy continues. No more pain!  I found Jesus the Joy of life.

Please pray for my husband.  He hasn't felt good for a couple of days.  He slept all day yesterday.  I would check on him, watching for his foot or hand to move.  He is on a lot of medication for blood thinning and when it is dry in the house he itches.  He doesn't want the vaporizer on, so I put some cranberries, lemon and cinnamon in a pan of water.  It smells great and fills the kitchen with moisture.  I was so concerned for him, that I stayed home from church this morning.  He shared with me,  last week that he worries about me not coming home when I am out and about  He doesn't want me to leave him, so today, I am home. I will miss the great message and all my wonderful friends.

In my quiet time this morning, I pondered about reading the Bible in a year.  I have done it several different times and in several different ways.  I decided that I would use my favorite daily Bible and start reading the Old Testament until the end.  As I was surveying my options in my Bible, I noticed a reading plan and that is the one I will embrace.  I have a study Bible with lots of good comments on the bottom of each page.  My plan is this:  Read, look up words, I don't understand and I will take lots of notes. Praying I will grow each day with each word.

Tomorrow, will be quiet, but that is okay with me.  I will make King Ranch Chicken, green bean casserole, and wonderful sugar treats from my sweet neighbors.

The promise for today is:  Now is the day of salvation and the time to receive My favor.

Hopefully, I will have time to blog tomorrow, but if I don't  Merry Christmas!

Love is in the ink!
