Yep! It was a home run type of Sunday. Sliding into absorb a great message and awesome fellowship. I love my church and everyone inside and outside on the covered porch and sidewalk. I remember meeting a young lady in Johnson City, Texas one Sunday and she was happy. She loved her church so much she just wanted to live there. That is the way, I am starting to feel. I even noticed my husband, John was full of joy. God is moving in my family.
The message was from Luke 17: 11-19. Pastor Dan talked about the 10 with leprosy and how anyone with it had to stand at a distant and shout that they had leprosy and not to come any closer. He described the disease in detail and it wasn't pretty. It also represents sin through out the Bible.
They called out to Jesus to have pity on them. He commanded them to go and show themselves to the priest and as they went, they were cleansed. Just think about that for a minute. What He commands, we must do. I felt shame cover me as I asked Jesus to forgive me and heal my heart of confusion and hurt. Than came the end of the story. Out of ten that were healed, only one came back to fall at the feet of Jesus and thank him. Jesus asked where the others were. Where are you? Having a thankful heart is the key to the answered prayers. It means giving up anger, self pity, un-forgiveness, and loving one another. Just obeying the Master. A wonderful simple new way of life to receive the blessings of Jesus. I have had the thankful part down, but I need to work on the go when He says go. Clear the bases off, I am coming in for a home run. I am picking up speed!
Today was my son's birthday. He was the completion to our family. I can't believe he is now 48 years old. I love both of my children. Joey is trying so hard to follow Christ in a world of non followers surrounding him. He is being prepared to do big things for the kingdom. He comes early in the morning for coffee. I bought him a new thermos for coffee. The coffee at the store is right by the meat department and now wanted to start charging the employees to drink coffee. He can fill up at our house and drink all he wants. John and I use to drink lots of coffee but not so much any more. Happy Birthday, to my sweet son, Joey. He has the thank you down. I think he said, "thank you" 10 times to me today.
