Waiting!

Good Evening!

Joey just stopped for a brief hello.  He looks better today and he mentioned several people commented on how much better he looked today.  I have been encourage him to wait on the Lord.  Blessing are coming to him.  That is why, I decided to ink my thoughts on waiting.  My waiting turned into thankful.

Couldn't wait until, I was 16, than 18, than marriage, than being a mother, than working, than all those Christmas mornings, my birthday, having time off, taking a nap and the list goes on and on.  Since turning 72, I am waiting now for that glorious day when I meet Jesus.  I have been putting more faith in Jesus to answer my prayers.  His will not mine.  His plan and not mine.  I will wait upon the Lord.  I will not be anxious as I wait.  I will no longer be disappointed or hurt because things didn't go my way.  The dusting can wait and so can the cleaning.  My time reading the word can't wait or my prayer time each day.  He is my life line.  I am thankful.

When we worked in Child Care we would pray for a quiet holiday.  No turkey, to noise  and a long afternoon nap.  Our prayers have been answered after all these years.  We have had several different offers for Thanksgiving and always have the option to go to the VFW.  Joey is working that day.  Sounds like Stove Top Dressing and chicken for us with a green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.  Lots of whip cream!  That long nap will happen also.  It will be a great day to be thankful.  I use to enjoy getting ready for Thanksgiving when my grandchildren were little. I should be doing something special for my neighbor kids, but I will.    I will put that on my future list of things to do.

This last year, I learned to wait in waiting rooms at the hospital for John's procedures to be finished and the results.  We have waited in the doctor's office many times since.  I continue to be thankful.  The waiting resulted in blessings.  I always carry a journal and ink for long waits.  The sterile rooms often resulted in a series of clean crisp sentences.  I was always cold and learned to carry my shawls.  They hung in the closest waiting for a time like that.  The Lord knows the time and place.  I need not fret about waiting.  His light shines bright on my life and waiting is good.

How sad Jesus, must have been when he healed the 10 men of leprosy and only one came back to thank Him.  Don't forget to thank people for little things and big things.  It is an act of kindness.  I love making thank you calls and  writing thank you notes.  I want everyone to feel as special as they made me feel.

I guess by now you have guess the word for today is Thankful and the verse of reference is
1 Chronicles 16: 34.
The Merriam-Webster online dictionary refers to thankful as a consciousness of a benefit received.  An expression of thankful service.
The verse is:   Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.   1 Chronicles 16: 34/

I am so thankful for all of the Lord goodness and mercy on my life and the lives of my children, grandchildren and sweet husband, John.  I can't wait to thank Him in person.

The Promise for today is:  I will comfort you with My everlasting encouragement.
                                                    2 Thessalonians 2: 16-17

Wait on the Lord and be thankful for the wait.
Love is in the ink.
