Veterans Day 2017

Good Evening!

Today, my mother would have been 102 if she was alive.  She loved having her birthday on Veterans Day.  She always told everyone that they closed the banks for her birthday.  My birthday is tomorrow!  A day late for mother, but a birthday delayed  present to her.  I miss her so much.   I am proud of all the men I know that have served our country with pride and honor.  I put together a book of all the military men in my family. I am not sure my children are interested in that sort of stuff.   Thank you for serving America. It is my privileged to honor you.

This is the 3rd week, I have been coughing.  I am ready for church in the morning, but if I start coughing, I will stay at home.  I still feel weak from all the coughing. My friend that lost her step- son is having a house full of company tomorrow and I promised to make my famous ham and cheese sliders for her.  I will have to make a stop at he store for the ingredients.  They are easy to make and everyone loves them.  Ham and  Swiss Cheese,....on Hawaiian rolls.  I mix a little D Jon mustard with Miracle Whip instead of butter to spread on each roll.    I wrap them and heat them up until the cheese has melted.  They are a hit.

Abbey will be the photo of the day. She loves John and I.  She is busy everyday trying to keep track of us.  At night she sleeps on the floor next to my side of the bed.  She loves to be brushed and since I have been sick she has found some hair balls and tangles. Hopeful  this next week I will  get her back in shape.  We love our little girl, Abbey.  She loves to go to the groomer.  She loves other dogs and thinks everyone came to see her.

The word for today is:  Honesty and the Bible reference is Proverbs 6: 16-19.

"There are six things the Lord hates, seven that  are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush to evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."
                                                                               Proverbs 6: 16-19

According to the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary Honesty  means fairness and straightforwardness of conduct.  Adherence to the facts.  Honesty is a trait of great character in my opinion.  Sometimes, I feel it is a lost art.  John and I were taught little signs to look for in  some one that is dishonest, when we worked with the children at the home.  I have used the tricks many times.

The promise for today is:  Come boldly to My throne when you need to find mercy and grace.
                                                   Hebrews 4:16

Prepare to celebrate the Lord's day tomorrow.  He has a plan for each of us in His hand.  Be blessed and walk with the King!

Love is in the ink.
Mary Kay
